• Hi friends,
Welcome to the blog tour for Where The Rain Is Made. Keta and I are glad you stopped by.
About Where The Rain Is Made:
A decadent savage has captured Francesca DuVall and her brother, Marsh. Now she must spend every waking moment planning an escape. However, she didn’t count on the powerful draw of desire interfering with her scheme in the camp of the brutal Cheyenne dog soldiers.
:Ethan Gray is a curator at a national museum . . . most of the time, but when he travels through time to help his beloved People he becomes Meko, leader of the most revered and feared tribe of the plains.
Although their worlds are decades apart Meko can’t resist the dark beauty he kidnapped during a raid. He has many battles to fight but none he wants to win more than the one that will capture Cesca’s heart forever. From the windswept plains of Colorado and the harsh life of a Dog Soldier to the placid life of a curator their love was fueled by passion and kindled by destiny.

Keta Diablo - Dust and Moonlight
Dust and Moonlight
Erotic Fantasy Paranormal

Blurb: When Kira Barton comes face to face with the latest serial killer she's tracking, she gets more than she bargained for. About to be transported into the past, she clings to her father's sacred talisman. Soon she will meet Prince Balion, the Light-Prince of Locke Cress and the rest, as they say, is history.
Excerpt: An interminable amount of time passed, long, agonizing minutes while she thought about a plan. Compelled to follow him when he came out, she exited the car and waited. An hour later, he emerged from the building and turned right at the corner. On the opposite side of the street, Kira paced her steps, but kept him in her line of vision. He stopped twice, before a bakery and a novelty shop and stared into the plate-glass windows. Kira ducked into the alley and peered between two buildings. Damn, had he spotted her? He started out again and set a brisk pace. Breathless by the time he ducked into an apartment building—a seedy, rundown ramshackle dwelling—Kira lost sight of him. She entered warily, not realizing she stood in an abandoned building until an oppressive stillness settled in around her. The chatter of people and the laughter of children were missing. Nothing echoed in the empty air except her own heavy breathing.
Shit, he’s led me into a trap.
She took in her surroundings. An odious stench permeated the empty room―animal feces, rancid food, and the smell of humans who hadn’t benefited from a shower in eons. Empty pallets lined the walls, and others lay scattered throughout the center. Vandals had been at play here. Windows were smashed out and several floorboards had been removed, no doubt to build fires on wintry nights. A well-used mattress sat in one corner―flea-infested and splattered with rust-colored streaks―an army surplus type that had lived through the Korean War. A discarded ice-box sat on a shelf, the college dorm type. The leaky roof was blotched with stains bigger than mud puddles and ringed with black mold. Long cords hung from the ceiling, plumbing fixtures had been ripped from walls and then scattered among the refuse and rubble.
The room emanated heat like a furnace, and every time she took a step, particles of dust scattered upward through the vacant air. Adrenaline coursed through her blood, her palms broke out in a sweat, and her heart pounded in triple beats. If she had any god-given sense, she’d turn tail and run as fast as her wobbly legs could move. Something evil lurked in the darkened corners, a living, breathing malevolence that made her skin crawl.
Low and lethal, his voice drifted across the stagnant air. “Are you FBI or local?”
“Neither,” she said and prayed he couldn’t detect the scorpion fear pedalling through her veins. A silver blade flashed beneath a rectangle of light streaming through a hole in the roof. “You’re him, aren’t you? The Scarlet Angel?”
A sardonic grin curled his lips. “Angel.” He paused, then, “Whoever coined the name has a queer sense of humor.”
Toying with the stiletto, and her, he ran his finger along the blade as if testing its sharpness. Her life flashed before her, all twenty-three short years. Graphic photos of Emma, Antoinette, Nicole, and Paula loomed before her, their lifeless eyes fixed, their throats ripped open and oozing blood. He pulled something from his back pocket. Like the knife, it gleamed beneath the light pouring down.
“Red,” she rasped. “Oh, dear God, a red cross.”
He advanced, one slow foot at a time, his eyes glazed over with the thrill of imminent death. “Why did you follow me from the plasma center?”
“Why do you think, loser?”
“Pity you did,” he said in a cold, flat tone that prickled the flesh along her spine. In an attempt to distance her body from that knife, she drew back, stumbled on a two-by-four and fell to her knees. Her stomach heaved as she searched the ground around her, praying she’d come into contact with something to defend herself. A rush of air left her lungs when her hand made contact with a steel pipe. Out of the corner of her eye she saw him. Bent at the waist, his head low, he came in for the kill.
Their bodies rolled in a blur of heat and dust, the knife inches from her throat. She swung the pipe with fierce determination, cringing as a sickening thud reached her ears. Collapsing on top of her, his body fell limp. With dwindling strength, she pushed him from her and drew several long, deep breaths. His form as still as the night closing in, a stream of blood oozed from a wound near his temple.
She dragged herself to her knees and inched her way to her feet by clinging to a post. Several feet away, she spied her purse and limped toward it. With shaky hand, she fished out her cell phone and punched in the code for Frank Kissel.
“Damn,” she groaned when it rolled into voice mail. “Mr. Kissel, it’s Kira, Kira Barton. You’re not going to believe this, but I’m in an abandoned apartment complex several blocks north of Promenade and Rathbone with The Scarlet―”
“You bitch! I’m going to take my time with you, cut that lily-white throat inch-by-inch!”
A scream tore from her lips as she dropped the phone. In a heartbeat he tackled her, pressing the cold, steel tip of the blade into her throat. I can’t freaking believe this! “Believe it”, her inner voice screamed. “It’s happening”. As his full weight pressed down on her, her starved lungs screamed for air. He smelled of sweat, cigarettes and stale booze. Please God, let me pass out before he does it.
An ancient chant filtered down from the rafters, a soothing dirge that came from far away. She saw her then, hovering over them, her long, silver hair floating listlessly around her, the sea-green dress sheathing her like a giant cocoon…so peaceful, so tranquil. Kira looked into The Scarlet Angel’s lifeless eyes.
“What’s the matter, bitch, giving up so easily?”
His smile faded when she spit in his face, replaced seconds later by a look of blind rage. He pushed the knife into her throat, slowly, methodically. Kira clutched the ruby medallion around her neck and the stone pulsated with the vibrancy of a comet shooting through the sky. Above the cyclonic wind in the room she heard the woman’s voice, sweet and serene. “Full moon, winter’s night, hear my call, see my plight. Come daughter of hope, savior of grief, come with me to a place of peace.”
With alarming speed, The Scarlet Angel’s face contorted, twisted and flattened until his features vanished. Her vision blurred and her hearing faded. Isn’t one’s hearing the last sense to surrender to death? I’m too young to die, there’s so much more to do. Thunder rolled and silver flashes of lightning lit the sky above them. It had been such a bright, sunny day, not a hint of storm clouds. Images of her closet flew through her mind. Her dresses cleaned and pressed and lined up neatly, she wondered which one her parents would choose for her funeral.
Kira tumbled through a great abyss, a tunnel of brilliant colors—blue, fuchsia, magenta and orange―the talisman clutched tightly in her hand. Calm enveloped her as the words echoed in her ears. “Come daughter of hope, savior of grief, come with me to a place of peace.”
And they were the last words she remembered.

Tara Nichols-Day 7
A love of Story telling
I have participated in many interviews, and one of the main questions asked is Why do you write? My answer to that is because stories just keep popping in to my head. It isn’t always a complete story, most often it is just part of a story, and I have to wait to hear the rest of it.
What I love, though, is putting that story together, making it work so others can enjoy it. I’m not an expert writer, by any standards, lol, but I really just get a rush from each and every idea. It is what brings me joy, what makes me feel proud, and what lets me participate in the social community that is the writing world.
Some of my favorite story tellers are F. Scott Fitzgerald, Harper Lee, Charles Dickens, Barbara Pierce, and Garth Nix. I aspire to be as good as they are.
That said, thanks to all those who have read and enjoyed my work! Without you, I might have lost another important part to writing, having someone to show it to!
If you’d like to stay up to date on my contests and announcements, please consider joining my freewebs membership at http://tarasnichols.webs.com, or following my blog posts at myspace: www.myspace.com/tarasnichols, following my blogspot at: http://tarasnichols.blogspot.com, or request friendship on my goodreads profile. I also post on facebook, both on my fan page and my main profile. I LOVE to talk to fellow book aficionados!
A great big thanks goes out to Seriously Reviewed for hosting me, and for putting up with all of my initial questions. You’ve been kind, patient, and courteous!

Tara Nichols-Day 6
Books to come, or, my goals for books to come
I am a compulsive goal maker when it comes to my writing and my ambitions. In fact, it might be the only organized thing about me. The rest of my life is as freelance as it comes. But I like to know where I’m headed, what story I hope to finish next, what publisher I’m going to send it to, and when I plan to ship it off.
Most often I break my own rules, and my list starts to resemble a football game plan; arrows pointing up, things circled and redirected, numbers added, scratched out, and the whole line up shuffled again.
Not only do I make a goal list, I make dozens of them. It’s sort of fun to come across an old one and laugh at what I have, or more likely, have not finished.
I once compared my writing to a horse race, each story in competition with the others to reach the finish line, and it’s anybody’s guess as to who will win. (If you want to read that blog you can find it here: http://www.romancingtheblog.com/blog/2009/06/15/to-the-finish/)
Anyway, how it currently stands is:
1.) I want, I really, really want to finish Tess’ Trio, the follow up story to my ménage amour at Siren Publishing titled Claiming Cullen. This was a different story for me, (one woman and five guys) but one of my best sellers. My new approach with some of the characters of Claiming Cullen, is to go further into my character’s lives and explain a little as to why one woman would want to bed five men. This is far from a psychological evaluation of course. Tess’ serious relationship with her two live in partners, Rael and Cullen is in turmoil, her career is on the rocks and her father has just reentered her life and meddled horribly. Throw in an extra man, and you’ve got drama, kinky drama.
Here’s a brief blurb from what I posted on Goodreads:
Erotica * m/f/m, m/m, m/m/f/m
Tess feels like a third wheel. Cullen and Rael are spending a lot more time together, and she just doesn't get their inside jokes. To make matters worse, her 30th birthday is right around the corner, and her father, the General himself, shows up at their door, uninvited.
He doesn't much approve of the way Tess lives her life, and tries to throw a wrench into their smooth operation.
Tess doesn't much approve of the way her dad lives his life either, but can she stay strong at the moment when she is feeling the most vulnerable, especially after she learns Gilles, her childhood crush is her father's Ace in the hole?
2.) Through the Forlorn Darkness - This will be the follow up story to Awakening the Blood, my erotic vampire novella available at Amira Press in e book format and now bound in print in the Wings Series. This story will pick up with Meara and D’iamonte as they outrun paranormal villains and try to uncover Meara’s past.
3.) A collection of erotic stories under one theme. (Ssh, it’s a secret)
4.) I always have short, anthology length stories on the go, ever ready for that anthology call. I love writing quickies.

Tara Nichols-Day 5
I have another release this month, a short story in the Spank! Anthology, titled ‘Just Rewards’.

Here's an excerpt from my story in the Spank! anthology
Collecting his brief case, he carried it along with him, passed a lopsided oval mirror, a rug that had been bunched in a heap, a bookshelf with all of its contents facing spine in, and the seventeenth century portrait that hung upside down. The trail of organized destruction led him straight to the bedroom, but he bided his time getting to her, righting things as he went.
With his cock already hard, he hesitated once he reached their bedroom door. It wasn’t the fact that the doorknob had been unscrewed, and now lay on the bench to his left, that made him pause and take inventory, but more the fact that he wanted to draw out their fun, prolong their pleasure, and of course, make her yearn for the punishment she sought just a little longer.
With his libido barely under his control, he entered the dark, spacious room, and found her exactly where he imagined her, laying on her stomach, a pillow propped under hips, and her plump bottom thrust high in the air. A Black lacey bodice with matching panties stretched taut across her lissome figure, while a set of satin garters held a pair of black nylons in place. He groaned inwardly but otherwise didn’t make a sound.
He approached the bed slowly and she peered over her shoulder, greeting him with a mischievous smile. His heart swelled at the sight. After thirty years of marriage they had both thickened out, but he believed his wife had never looked more beautiful.
Moving with slow, deliberate actions, he set his briefcase down by the bed and, taking his time, rolled up each sleeve. He came to stand behind her, just out of her range of vision. A pang of loneliness and desire washed over him as he realized how much he’d missed her through the intensity of their working years.
“I don’t suppose you know anything about the mess out there, do you?” It was a struggle to keep his tone firm, and he managed only because he knew it was required of him.
His wife shook her head and then raised her bottom higher.
“And we’re undoubtedly going to miss our dinner reservation because of these shenanigans. You do realize that, don’t you?”
This time she nodded.
A broad smile spread across his face, and he wondered if she’d even bothered to make them.
“You know, you don’t have to go to so much trouble, love,” he said after a moment.
“Oh?” Her husky voice rose and fell. “Exactly how much trouble am I in?”
Pretending to mull it over, he finally said, “I’d say at least three spankings worth.”
“Three!” her brow knitted and she rose up higher on her elbows. Then, spying his pillow, she thrust one arm out and tossed it to the floor. “How about now?”
He shook his head and tried to hide his grin.
Lowering his body down beside her, he knelt on one knee and brought his lips close to her ear. “Well, now you’re in for at least ten.”
If spankings are your thing, follow along in the tour!

Tara Nichols - Day 4
Island of Three releases through Siren Publishing today!
Tara’s books at Siren Publishing
I started writing Island of Three two years ago while reminiscing about some of the canoe camping trips I used to go on. We’d point our old red fiberglass boat that weighed a ton toward some distant shore and started paddling. Often we would stop off on one of the tiny rocky islands that can be found on most of the northern lakes on the Canadian Shield. It is a breath taking area, and certainly a romantic destination to entertain two gorgeous hunks.
Ironically, a few days ago I was out canoeing with my husband and my son. Although there were dark clouds on the horizon, the lake was smooth as glass. We paddled far on a twisting water path, around cattails and sandy banks, taking turns pointing to a flock of pelicans, the odd Grebe, or an oversized dragonfly. Before long those dark clouds had closed in and thunder rumbled in the distance. Weather in my part of the world is fast changing and unpredictable, so we turned around, (stopping to rescue a dragonfly from certain death in the process), and thank goodness we did. By the time we hoisted the canoe back onto the car rain started pelting us. We pulled out on to the highway, and because we don’t have roofracks, rain started to seep along the straps poking through each window. The wind blew hard and it started to hail. Soon we had to pull off to adjust the canoe and straps, and then we could only travel along the shoulder with our hazards on. By the time we reached home we were thoroughly soaked but laughing and still in good spirits.
I was reminded of the story I had just finished editing, thinking the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Just a reminder, I will be giving away a copy of Island of Three to one person who comments during my guest blog visit to Seriously Reviewed. I will announce the winner on Sept 11th, 2010.
[Erotic Contemporary Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, Public Exhibition, light bondage]
Tired of her workaholic lifestyle, Adele Roy enrolls herself in a wilderness adventure trip, only to be stranded on an island with two gorgeous strangers. With only basic survival to worry about, these three strangers find ways to fill up the long quiet evenings in a crowded shelter.

Who the heck is Tara S. Nichols?
Aside from a romance/erotica writer, I’m a mother, a wife, a graphic artist, a hermit, and a beekeeper. These things all go together well, I’ve found. Especially the hermit trait. And honey goes with everything.
I live in the countryside in the middle of Canada, where it’s flat, windy, snowy, hot and muggy. Not all at once, of course, but sometimes the weather is nuts out here. We have white outs which make for a cozy afternoon sitting in front of the woodstove. (Good thing I like chainsawing). Sometimes it’s handy to be snowed in too ;)
Most of my time is spent in front of the computer, writing, editing, creating images on photoshop, or blogging. It’s a far cry different from the way I used to write, which was in a fluster and involved a gross amount of scrap paper. I used to work at a bookstore, so when an idea struck me, I’d jot it down and stuff the note in my back pocket. Then, when I got home, I’d toss the wad onto my desk, planning to transcribe them all later. What actually happened is, I’d wind up transcribing months worth of notes! Secretarial duty is NOT my calling. I’m still sorting some of those notes, but I have at least forty stories worth.
My writing style is much like the way I blog, the way I run, the way I pack for a vacation, and oh woe is me, the way I do everything. It is spontaneous, in the moment, and rarely planned. Some people call that their muse, the inspiration or information that is delivered, but I don’t know what to call it. What ever it is, I don’t turn it away.
Now, I catch those inspirations on my ipod. It has cut down transcribing by 95% and probably saved a forest’s worth of trees. It’s quick too. I just email myself, then sort through blocks of writing, copying and pasting where ever it is supposed to fit. I recommend it. I still write fast and furious, believing what flows naturally is probably the right thing. After I have enough of a plot to work with, I print the story off, then take it to a coffee shop and using a pen ‘fix’ it.
I love sitting in a coffee shop with a functioning W.I.P., a tall cup of Joe, and my ipod pumping out the tunes. Being a hermit, I often forget where I am, and before I know it, I’m tapping my pen on the table and my leg is bouncing to the beat. I laugh out loud at my favorite parts and tsk tsk at the mistakes I’ve made. Hopefully the other patrons don’t mind.
Next, I go back to the computer and add in my notations, and then start at the beginning and do it all over again.
Ten Writing facts about me:
1.) I find humor sexy. A guy who will make me laugh, get goofy even if doesn’t look cool, or doesn’t make me feel bad when I do, is a guy I want to get to know. I try, when it works, to make my heroes as sweet, vulnerable, funny, and charming as I can, while still maintaining the expectations of a sexy alpha male.
2.) I over use exclamation marks and smileys in blogs and forums because I fret that the tone of what I’m trying to say doesn’t come across chipper enough.
3.) My favorite type of hero to read about is a renaissance man, yet I cannot, for the life of me, write about one.
4.) I write what I know. Most of my stories are situated in the great outdoors, the country side, or involve characters who come from the countryside. The exception to that rule seems to be the paranormal books I’ve written, and some of my shorter works. I’m not saying I grew up with burly shirtless farm boys shucking sheaves and tossing bales to the eaves of the barn, but I did have the wilderness experience nonetheless, rafting, climbing trees, chasing cows, shooting homemade arrows out of willow branch bows and pretending Tarzan was about to whisk me away on the next vine.
5.) I love writing anthologies! I have a dozen more short stories just waiting for anthology calls!
6.) I am convinced everything happens while I am away on vacation; guest blogs, edits, contracts, cover art, you name it, (what ever I can’t do without a computer). I have a running joke with my brother-in-law, that if I want publication action, all I need to do is go away.
7.) I prefer to write in a sunny corner, all by myself, rather than socialize with friends, classmates, or family (my husband and son not included. I always have time for them) But, when it comes to online friends, it’s a whole other story. I can chat for hours.
8.) If I’m in the writing zone and I have the house to myself, I often forget to eat until my husband gets home in the evening. Mostly I’ve been writing on Coffee fuel.
9.) I write whatever is the strongest on my mind, regardless of impending deadlines. I hate the feeling of a forgotten scene. I believe I write the best when I write in the moment.
10.) I type one handed, and fast. Basically it resembles ‘Thing’ from the Adams Family.
My style isn’t for everyone, but it works for me.

Tara Nichols- Day 2
Hi everyone,
As I mentioned yesterday, I am featuring my newest book trailer. I love making book videos. I think they are a great way to capture interest, and it's an excuse to work with my favorite graphic art program.
I have four book trailers in total. Click here to see my you tube page.
And now, my newest, Island of Three!
Thanks for watching.

Tara Nichols- Day 1
Hi,
For those who don't know me, I'm Tara S. Nichols, and I write erotic, paranormal, and contemporary romance fiction.
I've been writing ever since I can remember, often taking notebooks in to the forest with me where I would plot of fantastical landscapes and characters high up in the trees. I still write fantasies, only now they have an adult theme to them.
My first story, a steamy contemporary romance, was published in 2007 through Cobblestone-press, and since then I've gone on to sign twelve more contracts. Currently I am with six (and soon to be seven publishers).
My writing changed quite a bit since 2007, the heat rating fluctuating from sweet romance to sizzling erotica, and in length, from full length novels to anthology length stories.
To see the full range of my published works, and those to come, please visit my wikiromance page, or browse the pages on my blogspot.
This month is a busy one for me. I have two books coming out. The first is Island of Three, an erotic Menage Amour novella, releasing through Siren-Bookstrand publishers. Island of Three becomes available September 8th. 2010.

Here is a blurb:
[Erotic Contemporary Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, Public Exhibition, light bondage]
Tired of her workaholic lifestyle, Adele Roy enrolls herself in a wilderness adventure trip, only to be stranded on an island with two gorgeous strangers. With only basic survival to worry about, these three strangers find ways to fill up the the long quiet evenings in a crowded shelter.
I will be holding a give away for an e book copy of this title. All you have to do is one of the following, leave a comment here on this blog and state you'd like to be entered in the giveaway, or sign up as a member on my freewebs site, and mention that you'd like to be entered in the giveaway.
Up next is the Spank! anthology which releases September 15th, 2010, through Logical Lust, both as an e book and in print. I'm so pleased to have my story, 'Just Rewards' included among this amazing line of authors! I am participating in a blog tour to celebrate this book. Feel free to visit my blog on September 6th, 2010, to read the inspiration behind 'Just Rewards' and to follow along in the tour! I have included the other author's links!
